The Technical Entrepreneurial Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) has challenged companies in the private sector to follow Toyota Malawi’s initiative of holding skills contests to improve the competence among employees.
Toyota Malawi has taken the motivation of its employees to another level and TEVETA says such an initiative is so inspiring.
Teveta Executive Director Yusuf Alide said this on Saturday during the prize presentation function for winners of the 2009’s Toyotas' Skills Contest held at Toyota Malawi head office in Blantyre.
Toyota Malawi Managing Director Rosemary Mkandawire said the company holds the contest to motivate employees.
This year’s winners, Grevis Kanyanda’s from the service advisors department and Jeremiah Kapira, each won a trophy, home theatre set and will next year visit Japan.
Toyota Malawi is an international company that is quite a model in the motor industry in the country.
