Toyota Malawi has launched a facelift version of the Toyota Fortuner SUV for the local market. The new Fortuner features upgrades in appearance and functionalities for comfort. The front grille is slightly refreshed while the front head lights and tail lamps are mildly reworked. Toyota has also added electric retractable door mirrors.
The rest of the upgrades are performed in the interior with the additions of a six way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, wood trim instead of powder coated silver and a front passenger visor that includes a ticket slot and a lidded mirror.
The 7 seater SUV features the same power plant and transmission as the previous model, which means a 2.7 liter DOHC 4 cylinder with VVT-i mated to a 4 speed automatic. Horsepower is rated at 160HP while torque is figured at 241Nm. The Fortuner features a full time 2WD with double wishbones up front and 4 link with lateral rod at the back.
